Why don't the publisher pay the Author upfront Royalties?
The reason the publisher does not pay what is called (Advance Royalty payment) is because the publisher does not know how well any book will sell at any given
time. Also the publisher does not know if the author will get out and back up their own book.
The publishers will not give Advance Royalties to new authors. If the publisher does give Advance Royalty payment to the author, the publisher will have to make
that money back on what they put out for the publishing of that authors' book, along with the Advance Royalty payment to the Author that the publisher paid. This all
must be accomplished before the author will ever receive any other royalty payment for book sales. Eighty percent of the time the publisher will end up losing money
on a published book.
