A Literary Agent is the middle person that goes between you, the Author, and the Publishers.

Q. What does the Agent do?

A. The Agent goes through and reads all manuscripts that arrive in their office based on the type of genre that they deal with and they try to find Publishers that might
be interested in the genre of stories that you written. This can and will take several months to a year or more before they can find a publisher that is interested in your
manuscript.
