Chris Drake.
This book is a war adventure novel set during a war with China.
class to stand over the ashes of just about everyone. This is a story of growth in the face of death, creation in the fields of
destruction. Cruel upbringings prepared the three for a time when all became heartless. Now in the face of unheard of genocide
and total war, they improve themselves.
While the rest of America huddles in refugee camps or is ground to dust on the front lines, Mitch, Wade or Timothy farm the
killing fields and even plant a few new graves. This book is for anyone who has ever admired natural toughness in seemingly
insignificant people. This one is for the survivors.

Look Inside

How did I Christopher Drake get into writing....?
I got started when I was about 10, believe it or not. I mostly did poorly done comic books that went along the same
lines and the comics I enjoyed at the time. This was during the cold war so most had that theme. I then tried making
my own audio books. That had to be a laugh too. Anything my parents exposed me to, I tried to reproduce using a
tape recorder, drawing paper, an old typewriter and the church xerox machine (at a steep $.10 a page!).
After a while I got a first consumer-available word processor/type writer (at least that they sold at SAM's). The ink for it
was expensive by today's standards but my parents, poor farmers that they were, tried to afford it. I normally got a 3
pack of the ink it used right after harvest time and it had to last me until next harvest on the odd occasion that I picked
up a single.
This went on from the time I was 12 until I was 20. Seriously, I was still using that thing then. Around that time I was
able to afford a worn out 286 computer. By then, my imagination was running wild due to hours of boredom working in
factories. Each night after my shift, I'd drive my worn out Virago 750 home and type until daylight.
A break in later, the stories were gone forever. There must have been 20 of them, half short stories and the other half
full blown books.
A female friend bought me a 386 laptop, which was about the size of a large shoe box. I loved that thing dearly. Wish I
could have said the same thing for the girl that gave it to me. I clicked away story after story on that thing through two
hard disk failures. The keyboard always went home from the factory filthy from my typing on it during lunch but it came
back clean each afternoon.
Now I've got computers of all descriptions around me and hardly any time to get anything done outside of my lunch
break!
Writing saw me through the worst of times, looking back. I never realized how sad and pointless my life might have
been to most people looking at it from the outside in. I always thought back to the day before when I was more poor,
less experienced and further behind. Each writing session celebrated the leaving behind of yesterday's troubles. Each
day brought me closer to writing that perfect book, the one I'd want to read and read again.
Years after that first word processor, I sat down to write a book that would be exactly what I and my friends would want
to read. I thought about the guy in his beat up car, on his old bike or even on the bus, headed off for that job they say
Americans won't do anymore. I thought about my own daydreams of adventures, invasions or takeovers that would put
regular men like me to the test.
So I wrote Cruel New World. It sat on my hard drive, a few people reading it here and there. At first it was just friends
and they were acting like they were doing me a favor...at first. Reactions were all positive, some ecstatic.

Selling your book through our distribution channels
Baker & Taylor (B&T) is one of our distribution partners and is a primary supplier to libraries. B&T distributes books, calendars,
music, and DVDs to schools and both public and specialty libraries worldwide.
LSI submits its title metadata to B&T along to all of our distributors. At Ingram Book Company (IBC) and Amazon, Barnes &
Noble and all of our title info is picked up, where the audience is, the general consumer. Since B&T targets libraries they will, on
occasion, elect not to carry a specific title-- regardless of the printer or publisher -- if they feel it won't generate interest from their
target audience.
LSI cannot *make* B&T or any of our distributors carry a title. It is completely at the discretion of the book buyers at these
Main Home Offices. While a title setup at LSI should be on B&T or any of our distributor sites, we cannot *guarantee* it will be.
